I’m Sophie - a photographer originally from the South of England, now based in the beautiful town of Mijas, Málaga. I recently relocated to Spain with my partner and our little Cavapoo, Ruby, and I’m so excited to be starting this next chapter, welcoming new clients in such a stunning part of the world.

Where It All Began

Photography has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. I still vividly recall the excitement of receiving my first “proper” camera as a very enthusiastic teenager — from that moment on, I was rarely without it. I photographed absolutely everything. Growing up in a large family with five siblings (and now a combined total of 18 nieces and nephews!), I’ve always been surrounded by life, laughter, and meaningful moments. My nieces and nephews have been a constant source of inspiration and have allowed me to capture memories of them at so many different milestones of their lives.

A Defining Chapter

In 2015, following a painful back injury that resulted in spinal surgery, photography became more than just a passion — it became my focus. During my rehabilitation, I poured my energy into developing my craft, and this was when Sophie Rebecca Photography was established. Wanting to further refine my skills and understanding of the industry, I went on to study Photography at the University of Portsmouth, graduating with a BA (Hons) degree in Photography. I then stayed on to complete a Master’s degree in Digital Marketing - a combination that allows me to approach my work both creatively and professionally.

Professional Experience

Since graduating in 2019, I’ve worked full-time within both public and private in-house corporate creative teams, delivering high-quality photography, graphic design, and videography for a range of organisations. Alongside my corporate work, I’ve continued to grow my own photography business, investing in professional equipment and offering flexible sessions to suit each client’s needs.

More Than Just Photos

I specialise in outdoor photography, as I love working with natural light. Shooting outdoors gives children and families the freedom to move, play, and simply be themselves — resulting in genuine expressions and beautifully natural moments. From golden-hour glow to softly shaded locations, I aim to create images that feel effortless and full of life.
